Diriyah: The Cultural Anchor
The $63B redevelopment of the Saudi state's birthplace is PIF's most mature and commercially active giga-project.
Unlike Neom's blank slate, Diriyah is integrated into the existing urban fabric of Riyadh. Centered around the UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif, the project aims to become the Kingdom's premier cultural and lifestyle destination.
Delivery Phase
Diriyah is actively delivering assets. Bujairi Terrace, a premium dining district, is fully operational and generating revenue. The first hotels (Bab Samhan) are opening, and major infrastructure packages for the "Diriyah Square" retail district are awarded and underway.
PIF Integration
In 2023, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) transitioned its project portfolio directly to PIF, becoming the fifth official giga-project. This move streamlined funding and governance, ensuring the project avoids the capital constraints impacting longer-dated developments like The Line.
